Firstly you must have a passion for dentistry and helping others. The successful Locum nurses are the ones that are the heroes of the day. They go above and beyond and roll their sleeves up and get stuck in with the best of them.

If you have never, ever done dental agency work before it can seem rather daunting. The prospects of working with different clinicians and having to adapt to different methods of working is of course highly demanding on your confidence levels.

However we will guide on specific training to help you navigate yourself through this change.

The first six weeks are the hardest, you won't know where the practices are situated, where you have to park or who's who in the dental surgery!!!

After this it becomes a doodle attending your regular practices.

 But having said that, that's also part of the fun.Networking, going to new places and meeting new people. The nurses get so spoilt by the practices - yes I have to say the amount of Christmas meals they get invited to - you'd think they where the stand in part for, "The Vicar of Dibley"...... with the amount of Brussel Sprouts they've eaten.

On a more professional level agency work will let you develop working independently. Even though you'll work under direct supervision of a dentist. You will develop becoming more self sufficient. This is a great asset to have. You will be able to identify  without prompting the needs for that day and jumping over any obstacles that are hurled at you through the day.

Through this journey you will pick up more skills on your way which will give you the notions to deal with more complex treatments.

REQUIREMENTS NEEDED FOR THE ROLE

Valid UK Qualification in Dental Nursing

Valid GDC registration

Medical Indemnity 

Hep B blood test results showing titre levels are immune

Valid UK driving licence

Eligibility to work in the UK

The following CPD up to date; 

CPR, 

Medical Emergencies, 

First Aid Training, 

Mental Capacity Act, 

Decontamination & Infection Control, 

Oral Cancer, 

Sepsis Training, 

Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults levels 1 & 2, Modern Slavery, 

Legal and Ethical Issues, 

Complaints Handling, 

 Radiography IRMER.

Zero hours with a wage of £17.30ph - contracted 

Ad- Hoc with a wage of £17.30ph you can set your the days you work  at the start of each month.

Salaried contract with a wage of £15.40ph that is with on call paid guaranteed income.

Opportunity for you to be paid £18ph for any specialist nursing.

Weekends paid at £20ph 

Bank Holidays paid at £25ph

Full time/part time working arrangements available

Mileage paid at 45 pence per mile after first 20 miles

Parking contribution of £6 made

EDBS check completed on your first day

Bookings in advance – you will know where you’re going ahead of time

£100 Sign up fee paid to zero hours contract uptakes after 1 months complete service.
